REPORT: Zamalek in talks with Tunisia international Naim Sliti

Egyptian giants Zamalek are reportedly in talks with Tunisia international Naim Sliti following the mutual termination of his contract in Qatar.

Sliti, who suffered an injury last season, recently parted ways with Qatari club Al Ahli, just one season after joining the club from Saudi Arabia’s Ettifaq.

As a free agent, the 32-year-old reportedly caught the attention of Zamalek, who are keen to bolster their squad with his experience.

Sliti’s extensive international career would bring valuable experience to Zamalek. A seasoned Tunisian international, he represented his country in both the 2018 and 2022 World Cups and has earned 76 caps, scoring 14 goals for the national team.

Throughout his club career, Sliti has played in various leagues, including stints in France, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. In France, he represented clubs such as Lille, Dijon, Red Star FC, Paris FC, and CS Sedan-Ardennes.

He also played for Al Ahli in Qatar and Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia. Versatile on the field, Sliti can operate as both a left and right winger. Over his career, he has made 334 club appearances, scoring 70 goals and providing 52 assists.

If the deal is finalized, Sliti will become Zamalek’s fourth summer signing, joining Mahmoud Bentayeg, Omar Faraj, and Egyptian left-back Mohamed Hamdi.
