OFFICIAL: Al Hilal complete signing of Marcos Leonardo for €40m

Saudi Champions Al Hilal has officially announced the signing of Brazilian talent Marcos Leonardo from Benfica.

The Riyadh giants did not disclose the fee for the transfer but media reports state that the deal is worth €40 million.

Leonardo will be registered as one of the two U23 foreign players in the Al Hilal squad as the club has a full quota of foreign players and the Brazilian will act as a backup for Alexander Mitrovic.

Marcos Leonardo joined Benfica from Brazilain side Santos for €18m at the start of last season, scoring eight goals and assisting once in 24 games.

The Riyadh giants are trying to refresh their squad to retain their Saudi League title and mount a challenge for the AFC Asian Champions League. They are also getting ready for their participation in the 2025 Club World Cup.

Al Hilal campaign started perfectly as they won the Saudi Super Cup after beating Al Nassr. They also won their first two league games and they are next in action against Al Riyadh on September 14.
