Getafe submit offer to sign Ibrahim Adel from Pyramids – Report

Spanish outfit Getafe have reportedly submitted an offer to sign Egyptian winger Ibrahim Adel on loan from Pyramids.

Adel had an impressive Paris Olympics campaign, scoring three goals to help Egypt finish fourth and earned himself a place in the Team of the Tournament.

He had also claimed the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations Best Player award ahead of Barcelona’s Abde Ezzalzouli, which linked him with several European clubs.

It has been confirmed that Adel has attracted interest from a number of European sides led by Girona, Wolves, and newly-promoted Ipswich Town as well as Leicester City.

According to local reports, La Liga outfit Getafe have emerged as interested suitors and have submitted a $500,000 loan fee with a $2.5m purchase option.

However, Pyramids are insisting on a $1m loan fee and a further $5m to make the deal permanent. Getafe also added a reported 20-30% sell-on clause but the Egyptian Premier League runners-up want to increase that rate to 50%.

The Cairo-based side will be expecting a bidding war in the final days of the transfer window with Scottish giants Rangers also being in the mix.

It’s worth noting that the 23-year-old signed a five-year contract extension with Pyramids earlier this year and his new deal now runs until the summer of 2029.
