OFFICIAL: Zamalek sign ENPPI's Mohamed Hamdi

Egyptian giants Zamalek have completed the signing of Egypt U23 international Mohamed Hamdi from ENPPI on a season-long loan.

The loan fee is three million Egyptian Pounds, with Zamalek have the priority to purchase Hamdi permanently at the end of the season if they match any other offer received by ENPPI for the player.

Hamdi, 21, plays primarily as a left-back, but can also be deployed across the left wing, having been promoted to ENPPI’s first-team in 2022.

During his time with the Petroleum Club, Hamdi made 59 appearances for ENPPI in which he scored twice and assisted six times.

He was linked with moves to Europe through Portugal and Russian club FC Sochi, but a transfer never materialised.

The player was also part of the Egypt U23 national team that reached the semi-finals of the 2024 Paris Olympics, featuring three times as a late substitute against the Dominican Republic, France, and Morocco.

Hamdi is also capped once by the Egyptian national team after being handed his debut by former boss Rui Vitoria in a 3-1 friendly defeat to Tunisia in September 2023.

This marks Zamalek’s third summer signing after left-back Mahmoud Bentayeg and Palestinian striker Omar Faraj, with a deal with Gabonese striker Aaron Boupendza still in doubt.
