Al-Hilal's Neymar to miss two more months

According to Saudi newspaper Arriyadiyah, Brazilian star Neymar is set to return to Al Hilal’s squad in the winter.

Al Hilal’s Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus is planning to register the Brazilian star in the team’s squad for the AFC Champions League, but only for the elite stages.

The report also stated that the captain of the Brazilian national team underwent medical and physical tests, which revealed that he would need up to two months to fully complete his treatment and rehabilitation program before returning to match play.

The final squad for the Saudi Pro League must be confirmed by September 11, and Renan Lodi is expected to make the cut.

To meet the legal quota of foreign players in the league squad, Al Hilal will need to exclude one of their current foreign players.

Neymar continues his rehabilitation program in the gym at the club’s headquarters and has started light ball training with the group during the initial phase. He will then return to completing his individualized program.

The report suggests that the Brazilian star could return to Al Hilal’s domestic squad by January during the winter transfer window.

Neymar sustained an ACL injury and meniscus damage to his left knee shortly before halftime during Brazil’s 0-2 loss to Uruguay in Montevideo on October 17, as part of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
