Nacho: I am living my best life right now

Nacho Fernandez reflected on his move to the Saudi Pro League after a long stint with Real Madrid and winning Euro 2024 with Spain.

The 34-year-old joined Al-Qadsiah in the summer on a free transfer, putting an end to an illustrious career in Madrid, which saw him win six Champions League titles.

He already made his debut is Saudi Arabia, captaining Al-Qadsiah to two successive wins against Al-Fateh and Al-Raeh in which he kept a clean sheet.

Speaking to the Saudi Pro League’s official YouTube channel, Nacho said: “I will try to help Al Qadsiyah with the experience I gained after playing all these years at Real Madrid.

“I want to help the young players and transfer my experience to them. Everybody was very friendly and they all want to grow and learn.”

Reflecting on his move to Al Qadsiyah, Nacho explained: “For some time, I felt the need for a new challenge. I talked with Real Madrid about it, and we made the decision by the end of the season.

“I am living my best life right now. It is a new project but an exciting one, which led me and my family to come here. My dream would be to win a trophy with Al Qadsiyah.”

Nacho’s transition to Al Qadsiyah comes after a stellar season in which he won La Liga and the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid, followed by lifting the Euro 2024 trophy with Spain.
