VOLLEYBALL: Zamalek women crowned African Champions for first time in history

Zamalek women’s volleyball team have been crowned African Champions for the first time in history after beating Kenya Pipeline Club 3-1 in the final.

The Zamalek volleyball team had advanced to the African Clubs Championship by beating MC Alger 3-1 this Saturday in the semi-finals.

The championship’s finale started with Zamalek taking the lead, winning the first set 25-22, before Kenya Pipeline tied the score by winning the second set 25-18.

However, the Whites quickly made their comeback, winning the third set 25-15, before emerging victorious 25-17 in the fourth set and clinching the African Champions League.

It is noteworthy that the Zamalek women’s volleyball team is participating for the first time in its history in the African Clubs Championship and they are the second Egyptian Club to claim the African Champions Cup after Al Ahly.

The Whites women’s volleyball team had won the Egyptian Cup title after defeating their arch-rivals Al-Ahly 3-1 three weeks ago.
