Zamalek's new signing Ahmed Hamdi suffers hamstring injury

Zamalek have officially announced the details of Ahmed Hamdi’s injury, which he sustained during a friendly match against the club’s youth team.

Hamdi suffered the injury during Zamalek’s 3-1 victory over the youth team in preparation for the resumption of the league.

Dr. Mohamed Osama, head of Zamalek’s medical staff, revealed that Ahmed Hamdi sustained a hamstring strain and was substituted as a precautionary measure to prevent aggravating the injury.

The doctor further explained that the player will undergo further medical examinations in the coming hours. A rehabilitation program is set to ready him for group training, ensuring a swift return to the pitch.

Ahmed Hamdi joined Zamalek during the winter transfer period on a free transfer after his contract with CF Montréal expired, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him with Zamalek until the summer of 2027.

Meanwhile, Zamalek intensifies training for their upcoming clash against Ismaily on February 19th, in the thirteenth Premier League round.
