OFFICIAL: Mostafa Fathi joins Pyramids FC on season-long loan

Pyramids FC have announced the signing of Mostafa Fathi on a season-long loan from Saudi club Al-Taawoun FC.

Just last January, Fathi completed a $1m move to Saudi side Al-Taawoun from Zamalek after refusing to sign a new contract with the Whites.

The 28-year-old impressed in just a short time, scoring five goals while assisting twice in 12 league games, helping the club avoid the drop on the final matchday.

While Fathi is seen to be one of Al-Taawoun’s biggest names, he failed to report for the club’s pre-season camp in Holland due to issues related to his military service.

As a result, Fathi was linked with moves to Cairo giants Al Ahly and military club El-Gaish, but in the end, he opted for a loan move to Pyramids FC.

This comes after Al-Taawoun refused to let the winger leave on a free transfer, so they were forced to loan him out until he concludes his military services.

Mostafa Fathi now becomes Pyramids FC’s third summer signing following deals for Karim Hafez and Mohamed Chibi.
