Ahmed Fathi denies having issues with Pyramids board

Pyramids FC right back, Ahmed Fathi, debunked all rumours suggesting that he has an issue with the club’s board or coaching staff.

Pyramids came under a lot of fire recently as several issues emerged between the club’s board and some players.

It all started with goalkeeper El-Mahdy Soliman who went on television and attacked the board for allegedly trying to keep him from leaving and at the same time refuse to give him more playing time.

Two players publicly supported the former Smouha man, Abdallah Bakri and Ragab Bakar, who’s currently on loan at Ceramica Cleopatra.

Since then, Bakri and Soliman have been training by themselves and received a hefty EGP500k fines.

Later last week, several reports suggested that Fathi got into a verbal argument with head coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena before another rumoured fall out with the club’s technical advisor Ahmed Hossam Mido.

On April 1 it was said that Pyramids are keen on letting the veteran defender go but Pyramids immediately denied these rumours.

Fathi also took it upon himself to clarify the situation by assuring that there are no issues between him and the club.

“Since my return from injury, I have played 4 games with the team, and I haven’t even played the Al-Obor match in the Egypt Cup,” the 36-year-old told OnTime Sport.

“Any player would be sad about not participating, but I have no problems with the coach. All these rumours are completely false,” he concluded.
