Two Egyptians included in IFFHS African team of the decade 

The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) has included two Egyptian players in their African Team of the Decade starting eleven.

The IFFHS has released several Team of the Decade squads, depending on the continent. This includes the CAF, AFC, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL and World teams for both men and women.

Only Ivory Coast and Egypt saw two players in the starting 11, with Al Ahly legend Ahmed Fathi and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah making the cut.

Since the start of the decade, Fathi lifted seven Egyptian Premier League titles, two Egypt Cups, four Egyptian Super Cups, three CAF Champions League titles, one CAF Confederation Cup and an African Super Cup.

Meanwhile, Salah has been a world-renowned player since his move to Liverpool in 2017. The 28-year-old won the Premier League Golden Boot on two occasions.

On the club level, he was able to lead them to the Premier League title, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.

Full starting 11:

Goalkeeper: Vincent ENYEAMA (Nigeria).

Defenders: Ahmed FATHI (Egypt), Mehdi BENATIA (Morocco), Kalidou KOULIBALY (Senegal) and Eric BAILLY (Cote Ivoire).

Midfielders: Yaya TOURE (Cote Ivoire), Andre AYEW (Ghana) and Riyadh MAHREZ (Algeria).

Forwards: Sadio MANE (Senegal), Pierre-Emerik AUBAMEYANG (Gabon) and Mohamed SALAH (Egypt).
