Klopp requested a detailed clarification on Salah’s Olympics presence, says Gharib

Egyptian Olympic team manager Shawki Gharib says that he is preparing a comprehensive file to be delivered to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, concerning Mohamed Salah’s contribution in the upcoming 2020 Olympics with the Pharaohs.

Gharib pointed out: ‘’Klopp has requested a full file on the Olympic team program, and a file is currently being prepared to study the possibility of Mohammad Salah’s participation in the Tokyo Olympics.’’

The former Egypt head coach spoke about Salah’s potential presence: “I believe and I hope that Salah will be with us, all the players want him to be there, it is a great name in world football and he will be a strong addition to us, especially as we are looking forward to competing for an Olympic medal, so we have to make use of all our abilities.”

Gharib added: “We are not the decision-makers, it comes to Liverpool, Klopp and Salah himself, and we asked Amr Al-Ganainy, the president of the Egyptian Football Association, to talk to him.

‘’When Zinedine Zidane was asked about Sergio Ramos, Zidane welcomed the player’s participation in this big event.”

He finally announced: “We will put 50 players on the initial list on May the 20th ,  including 12 top players, and the final list will be sent on July the 1st.”
