OFFICIAL: Al Masry sack Ehab Galal after Zamalek game incident

Al Masry have sacked manager Ehab Galal in the wake of the Zamalek game which saw him altercate with club fans after the game.

Galal took charge of Al Masry for the second time just last September following the end of his short spell as Egypt national team boss.

His second spell saw him lead Al Masry in only five games, winning just once while drawing two and losing further two as the team was knocked out of the Egypt Cup quarter-finals by Zamalek.

The five games, however, saw the team face the likes of Pyramids FC and Zamalek twice, with the latter being Galal’s last opponent in the game that finished in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Following the game, Galal was spotted arguing with some Al Masry fans who attacked him in the stands, which led the club to open an investigation over the incident.

However, according to a club statement, Galal didn’t show up for the investigation, and as a result, was sacked from his position just less than three months after he was hired.

Tarek Soliman has been appointed as an interim coach and will be assisted by Magdy El-Shennawy, Mahmoud Abdel-Hakim, and Mohamed Abdelmonsef.

Al Masry currently sit 10th on the league table with five points from four games and their next game will see them face Bank Al Ahly on Tuesday, December 6.
