Ittihad Jeddah are reportedly pushing to sign former Bayern Munich and Liverpool winger Sadio Mane from their rivals Al Nassr.
Sadio Mane made the move to the Middle East last year, joining Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr after struggling to adapt at Bayern Munich.
However, his time in the Saudi Pro League has been often met with criticism from fans and pundits who believe the forward should be delivering more in terms of attacking output.
Only a year after his move to Al-Nassr, multiple reports confirmed that Mane is now on the verge of leaving the club and could be joining Fabinho’s Al-Ittihad.
The Jeddah giants are currently negotiating terms with Al-Nassr for the 32-year-old. Discussions are now taking place over the deal structure whether on loan or a permanent basis according to transfer expert Ben Jacobs.
Mane has been recommended by Ittihad Jeddah star Karim Benzema. The French striker told the club’s management he wants to play with the Senegalese and believes his addition will help the Tigers challenge for the league title.
Additionally, tensions have been rising between Mane and Cristiano Ronaldo which led the winger in thinking about leaving. Al-Nassr also are close to sacking their manager Luis Castro.
After a disastrous title-defending campaign where they finished fifth last season, the Yellows are trying to rebuild their squad. In doing so, they have already completed the signings of AS Roma midfielder Houssem Aouar and Aston Villa star Moussa Diaby.
