VIDEO: Egypt's Bilal Mazhar scores five goals for Panathinaikos in UEFA Youth League

Egyptian youngster Bilal Mazhar scored five goals for Panathinaikos U19 in their emphatic 8-0 victory over Slavia Sofia in the UEFA Youth League.

Bilal is the son of former Egyptian international Mazhar Abdelrahman, who wore the shirts of multiple big clubs including French outfit AS Monaco and Egypt giants Zamalek.

A product of Arab Contractors’ youth sector, Bilal had left Egypt for a chance abroad at the age of 15 and he’s now plying his trade for Greek giants Panathinaikos’ U19 team.

He had helped his club win the Super League 1 K19 title last season after netting 21 goals in 20 games, earning them a spot in this year’s edition of the UEFA Youth League.

The Greek team entered the competition in the First Round, where they were drawn against Bulgaria’s Slavia Sofia.

The first-leg took place on Wednesday at the Leoforos Alexandras Stadium, Athens, and saw Panathinaikos run riot in an 8-0 victory.

Five of the eight goals were scored by Bilal Mazhar alone in the 2nd, 30th, 49th, 58th, and 66th minutes as he also grabbed an assist for Leandro Frroku’s goal just before half-time.

The five goals put Bilal top of the goalscoring charts one ahead of Barcelona’s Víctor Barberá and Oakley Cannonier of Liverpool, who scored four goals each.

October 5 will see the return-leg in Sofia which will hopefully see the Egyptian score more goals in Europe.
