Egypt international striker Ahmed Hassan ‘Kouka’ has revealed he would like to play for Al Ahly one day, and that he turned down an unnamed Egyptian team for that reason.

Olympiacos striker Ahmed Hassan ‘Kouka’ has revealed that he would like to play for Egypt’s most successful club, Al Ahly, when he is done with his journey in Europe.

Unlike almost all Egyptian players, Kouka has never played senior football in his home country having moved to Portugal as a teenager to play for Rio Ave before a move to Braga, where he has since been loaned to Olympiacos.

Before this, he was on the books at Al Ahly’s youth academy, and as such he feels that he has some unfinished business at the club.

Kouka said “I am not thinking about returning to the Egyptian stadiums, but it will be completely different if Al Ahly negotiated with me, because I am one of their sons.”

“Last season, I received a tempting and serious offer from an Egyptian club. I do not wish to reveal his identity, but I rejected the offer. This refusal is due to my desire to return to Al-Ahly.”
