OFFICIAL: Mahmoud Alaa joins Libyan club Asswehly

Ex-Egypt international Mahmoud Alaa has completed a move to Libyan outfit Asswehly after terminating his contract with Zamalek.

After seven seasons with Zamalek, Mahmoud Alaa departed the club just last week after both parties agreed to terminate the contract by mutual consent.

It didn’t take the 33-year-old long to find a new club as it has been revealed he reached an agreement with Libyan Premier League side Asswehly.

Alaa will sign a one-year deal, with an option for a further season, to become the club’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

Based in Misrata City, Asswehly finished last season in fifth place after securing a spot in the Championship group.

The club has several known names like ex-Esperance midfielder Fousseny Coulibaly, Haythem Ayouni, formerly of Al Masry, and John Okoli, who played in Egypt for Arab Contractors.
