Egypt U-23 national team head coach Rogerio Micale hailed his side following their important victory over Zambia.
The Pharaohs managed to secure qualification for the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after defeating Zambia 2-0 on aggregate.
The tournament is set to take place in Morocco from June 24th to July 8th as Egypt became the first country to book their spot after the hosts.
Rogerio Micale was full of praise for his players and staff after the tie and also talked about his aspirations going forward.
“I would like to thank the players for their heroic display,” Micale told reporters.
“They definitely deserved the qualification after overcoming such a strong and resolute team in a hostile atmosphere.
“It’s an important step in the road to the Olympics and now we can dream of winning another U-23 AFCON title in Morocco.
“We want to make the fans happy and what I can promise them is that they will see a new golden generation,” he added.
