Aston Villa fullback Lucas Digne has praised former teammate Mohamed Salah for his strength and technical ability.
Digne and Salah were teammates at AS Roma during the 2015/2016 season, where they played together in the Italian capital.
Salah has started the season in excellent form for both club and country. He has scored three goals and provided three assists in Liverpool’s first three Premier League games, earning him a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Month for August.
Speaking to L’Equipe, Digne said: “Considering his height, Salah is incredibly strong.
“I trained with him for a year and saw a technically gifted player—we all know that—but also someone who is physically tough.
“Every time you go up against him, it feels like hitting a wall,” he added.
Digne and Mohamed Salah will come up against each other later in November when the Reds host Aston Villa at Anfield.
However, first Liverpool face Nottingham Forest on Saturday, September 14, the same day Villa host Everton in the fourth matchday of the Premier League.
