Liverpool former star John Aldridge said that he believes Mohamed Salah is set to return to his usual form after scoring against Huddersfield.

Mohamed Salah managed to end his goal drought with a match winner as  defeated Ramadan Sobhi’s Huddersfield 0-1 away from home, which was the player’s 50th goal in English football.

The Egyptian winger has been struggling so far to match his performances with the Reds during his debut season where he scored 44 goals in all competitions with Liverpool.

“Hopefully the goal can give Mo a confidence boost now as we need to get him back to his old form,” Aldridge said his Liverpool Echo column.

“It will take a bit of the pressure off him and there are little signs that he’s coming back.

“Opponents are making it difficult for him. There are two or three men on him all time, he’s getting choked and needs to get his head up quickly and see where the space is,” he added.

Salah’s teammate Joe Gomez echoed Aldridge’s views assuring his excitement for the Egyptian following his fourth goal this season.

“Mo is bound to put pressure on himself, he strives to get the best out of himself every day.

“We all know his quality.

“It’s not just about goals with Mo, even when he’s not scoring he’s still making a big contribution to the team,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
