Egypt's Mostafa Mohamed wins 2023 AFCON Bronze Boot

Egypt international striker Mostafa Mohamed has claimed the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Bronze Boot.

Mohamed scored four goals, one in each of the Pharaohs’ four games, before the team exited in the round of 16 by DR Congo.

Despite the early exit, the four goals were enough to earn Mostafa Mohamed a place on the top scorers’ podium, just one behind Golden Boot winner Emilio Nsue.

Meanwhile, Angola’s Gelson Dala earned the Silver Boot award with also four goals as he guided his country to a historic quarter-final qualification.

Nigeria’s defender and skipper William Troost-Ekong claimed the MVP award, Simon Adingra the Best Young Player award, and Ivory Coast’s Emerse Fae earned the Best Coach award.

Moreover, South Africa claimed two awards itself, first as Ronwen Williams was crowned the Best Goalkeeper, with the national team also winning the FairPlay award.
