Al Ahly’s first team delegation has arrived at Kumasi Airport after departing from Accra this morning, to play against Medeama as part of the fifth round in the CAF Champions League group stage.
The Al Ahly delegation had stayed on Wednesday at a hotel near Accra airport due to the circumstances the plane faced upon departure from Cairo airport and its inability to fly.
Al Ahly requested a postponement of the match against Medeama SC from the CAF, after an accident involving the team’s plane occurred at Accra airport, preventing the aircraft from traveling to Kumasi and thus delaying the team’s arrival.
The Reds requested the postponement of the Medeama game until the issue ends, either by the authorities in Ghana or by waiting for EgyptAir to send another plan to transport the team to Kumasi.
Al Ahly is preparing to play against Medeama SC, tomorrow evening, Friday, as part of the fifth round of the group stage in the 2023-2024 CAF Champions League.
Al Ahly currently tops Group D with 6 points, followed by Young Africans and CR Belouizdad with five points each. Medeama sits at the bottom with 4 points.
