Besiktas sporting director Ali Naibi has confirmed that Mohamed Elneny will stay with the Black Eagles until the end of the season.
Mohamed Elneny was initially linked with a move away to AC Milan in January as the Italian giants looked to strengthen their midfield.
On Thursday, the 27-year-old’s father Nasser Elneny said that negotiations between the Egyptian and Milan are in an advanced phase.
Despite Nasser Elneny’s comments, Besiktas sporting director Ali Naibi has now said that the Arsenal man will remain at Istanbul until the end of the season.
“We agreed to a one-year deal with Arsenal,” Naibi told NTV. “I don’t understand why his father made such a statement.
“Elneny will stay at Besiktas until the end of the season,” he added.
Since joining Besiktas from Arsenal in August, Elneny has made a total of 18 appearances in all competitions for the Istanbul giants.
