Pyramids winger Lumala Abdu out for five months with knee injury

Pyramids winger and Uganda international, Lumala Abdu, has sustained a knee injury and is expected to be out of action for five months.

Abdu had joined Pyramids last summer from Kalmar FF after impressing in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

However, the 21-year-old made a total of just five appearances across all competitions this season before football was halted due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Now, Abdu is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he travelled to Belgium to undergo knee surgery.

“Thank you, Pyramids FC, my manager Joe, the club president and Dr. G. Declercq. I will be out for some time but will come back stronger than before, the operation was successful,” Abdu said on Facebook.

Pyramids are currently third in the Egyptian Premier League table with 32 points after 18 games played this season.
