Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit, New York Red Bulls, have named Austrian manager, Gerhard Struber, as their new head coach.

Struber comes in as a replacement for Chris Armas, who was sacked by NY Red Bulls last month after a poor run of form.

Following Armas’ departure, Bradley Carnell took over as interim manager, guiding them to three wins in seven games.

And on Tuesday, the club announced that Struber will now take charge of the club as he looks to improve their results.

“I am looking forward to getting to know my new team, hopefully very soon,” Struber said after his appointment.

“We want to pursue very ambitious goals together and develop steadily. The challenge of working in MLS makes me proud and gives me massive motivation for a big opportunity.”

It’s worth noting that Amro Tarek has made a total of eight appearances across all competitions for NY Red Bulls this season.
