Amro Tarek wins Newcomer of the Year award with New York RB

Egypt international Amro Tarek has won the New York Red Bulls’ Newcomer of the Year award following an incredible start in the MLS.

Tarek has had a strong start to the season after playing 20 games for the New York Red Bulls in the MLS, scoring once and providing an assist while guiding them to a playoff spot.

The 27-year-old sustained an ankle injury in mid-September during the Red Bulls’ game against Seatle Sounders FC as the club announced that Tarek will be out for six weeks.

Since joining the Red Bulls in the summer, Tarek has made a total of 22 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring a goal and assisting another this season.

After his outstanding performances, Tarek was rewarded with the Newcomer of the Year award while Daniel Royer won the Team MVP award.

Meanwhile, Cristian Casseres Jr. was named the Defensive Player of the Year and Luis Robles won the Humanitarian of the Year award.
