Egypt international defender Amro Tarek has been included in the MLS Team of the Week following New York Red Bulls’ victory over Orlando City in the 23rd round.

Brain White scored in the 32nd minute to give New York Red Bulls a precious 1-0 victory against Tarek’s former club Orlando City FC, but it was the Egyptian, who impressed in defence to help his side keep a crucial clean sheet.

A brilliant defensive performance which was enough to earn him a place in the back three of MLS Team of the Week alongside Kai Wagner from Philadelphia Union and New England’s revolution Andrew Farrell.

The Team of the Week also included Los Angeles Galaxy’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic after his brilliant hat-trick in the Los Angeles derby against LAFC, managed by former Egypt manager Bob Bradley.

In addition, 2018 MLS Player of the season Josef Martinez from Atlanta United has also made the cut after scoring a 90th-minute goal in his side’s 2-0 victory over DC United.

It is worth mentioning that Amro Tarek has joined New York Red Bulls from Orlando City last December, and the Egyptian has been one of their key players since then.

Red Bulls currently sit fourth in the Eastern Conference with 34 points from 22 games, five points away from Philadelphia Union at the top of the league.
