EFA provide private security for Liverpool star Salah in Kenya

Egypt national team officials have requested private security accompanying Liverpool star Mohamed Salah during their Kenya trip.

The Pharaohs currently sit on top of Group G in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers with eight points, just ahead of second place Comoros on goal difference.

During this international break, they will travel to face Kenya in the qualifiers on March 25, before hosting Comoros three days later in Cairo.

The Pharaohs need just one point from the two encounters to officially secure a spot in the finals, set to take place in Cameroon next year.

Just last night, Egypt have landed in Kenya with a fully-fit 28-man squad, headed by Liverpool star Mohamed Salah as he is expected to make his international appearance for the first time in 625 days, with the last one coming in defeat against South Africa in the 2019 AFCON.

Ahead of their trip, the national team officials have asked the Egyptian embassy in Kenya to provide personal security accompanying only Mohamed Salah, something which was granted.

The 28-year-old is currently Egypt’s third all-time goalscorer with 43 goals and is just one goal away from second-placed Hassan El-Shazly, and 33 behind Hossam Hassan, who is leading the charts.
