Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has been moved to a medical facility in El-Gouna as he begins his recovery from COVID-19.

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) had announced two days ago that Salah tested positive for COVID-19 on two occasions.

As a result, Salah was ruled out of Egypt’s 1-0 win against Togo on Saturday in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.

And on Sunday, the EFA’s director of public relations, Shaaban Bastawy, revealed that Salah received medical approval to leave the hotel, where the national team are staying, and complete his quarantine in El-Gouna.

He also stated that Salah will conduct another COVID-19 test upon his arrival to El-Gouna’s medical facility.

Salah now adds to Liverpool’s long list of injuries and could miss out on their upcoming clash against Leicester City in the Premier League following the international break.

The 28-year-old has had an outstanding start this season, scoring ten goals and providing an assist in 13 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions.
