Pyramids duo Keno and Cristian Benavente will miss Al Ahly’s clash due to injury, club chairman Turki Al-Shekih announced on Wednesday.

League leaders Al Ahly will host third-placed Pyramids FC on Thursday at Petrosport as the Reds will want to avenge their 2-1 defeat in the first-leg.

Al Ahly will enter the game without a number of his key players, namely Saad Samir, Walid Soliman, Karim Nedved, and Mohamed Hany, with the latter missing the game due to suspension.

On the other hand, Pyramids’ top scorer and most assist provider Keno has been ruled out due to injury and will be joined by Peru international Cristian Benavente.

The injuries have been confirmed by club president Turki Al-Sheikh, who has lamented his team’s bad luck ahead of the highly anticipated game.

The duo will join 2017 AFC Player of the Year Omar Khribin, who was sent off during Pyramids’ last game against Ittihad of Alexandria after receiving two yellow cards.

Al Ahly will enter the game sitting top of the league table with 58 points, one ahead of Pyramids, who played two games more than the Reds.

Meanwhile, second-placed Zamalek will play rivals Ismaily hours before the Al Ahly-Pyramids clash.
