Mahmoud Hassan ‘Trezeguet’ assisted the winning goal as Kasimpasa won 2-1 against Buyuksehir Belediye Erzurumspor thanks to a brace from Bengali Fode Koita.
Kasimpasa XI: Kose, Popov, Sa, Ben Youssef, Veigneau, Sadiku, Pavelka, Hajradinovic, Serbest, Trezeguet, Koita.
Erzurumspor XI: Sehic, Unlu, Kanstrup, Gor, Schwechlen, Scuk, Kone, Eduok, Antalyali, Obertan, Muhammed.
After Diagne left the club for Galatasaray in January, Kasimpasa put Guinea international Bengali Fode Koita up front in his place.
The move proved to pay off as Koita opened the scoring midway through the first half after being picked out by Sadiku.
Kasimpasa’s former player Samuel Eduok came back to haunt his former club at around the same point in the second half, making it appear that the game would be headed for a draw.
That was until Trezeguet took charge of his playmaking responsibilities and found Koita for his second goal, and it was enough for Kasimpasa to hold on for a 2-1 win.
The win means that Kasimpasa are now 6th in the Turkish league, while being level on points with Yeni Malatyaspor the place above them.
Kasimpasa’s next game is away at Antalyaspor on Sunday 14th of April at 3PM Egyptian time.
