Al Masry lost 1-0 (3-2 on aggregate) against RS Berkane in the quarter finals to exit the CAF Confederation Cup.

After a slow start, Berkane were first to threaten Al Masry when Omar Namsaoui found Ismail Mokadem inside the box, but the defender’s header was denied by Ahmed Abdel Fattah in the 23rd minute.

The Moroccan side kept pushing forward and in the 39th minute, they managed to break the deadlock through Najji Larbi who converted Alain Taore’s cross with a powerful header, to make it 1-0 ahead of haltime.

Al Masry failed to create any real threats in the second half as the majority of gameplay was in the midfield, until the dying moments of the game when Saidou Simpore tried his luck from inside the box, but the Burkinabe’s strike cannoned off the woodwork.

Following the 1-0 defeat (3-2 on aggregate) Al Masry got knocked out of the CAF Confederation Cup and will face Haras El-Hodood on the 12th of March in the Egyptian Premier League.
