Mohamed Salah scored as Liverpool defeated Bournemouth 2-1 in the 29th fixture of the English Premier League.

The Cherries got off to a quick start, as they broke the deadlock in the ninth minute through Callum Wilson, who finished Jefferson Lerma’s pass into the back of the net.

The Reds responded in the 27th minute, when Sadio Mane intercepted the ball from from Bournemouth defender and squared it to Salah. The Egyptian cut on his left and drilled it into the bottom corner, to make it 1-1.

Mane turned from producer to scorer when he received Virgil Van Dijk’s defence-splitting through pass and converted it past Aaron Ramsdale with a composed strike in the 35th minute.

The Cherries kept pressing forward to level things up and around the one-hour mark, Ryan Fraser nearly scored the equaliser with a clever lobbed effort, however, it was cleared off the goalline by James Milner.

The Reds maintained locked defence until the referee blew the fulltime whistle to collect their 82nd point ahead of their anticipated clash against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
