Smouha SC director of football Ibrahim Hassan has declared that the loan spell of Egypt international Bassem Morsy will be cut short following the Alexandria-based side’s clash against Zamalek.

After terminating his contract at Greek club Athlitiki Enosi Larissa, Zamalek have loaned out Morsy to Smouha. The 27-year-old striker’s impact with Smouha has been minimal after he only featured in six games without registering any goals or assists.

A feud took place between Morsy and Smouha assistant coach Tarek Soliman following the team’s recent game against Wadi Degla in the league, while also allegedly leaking rumors that his parent club Zamalek was subject to attack from coach Hossam Hassan during a tactical session with the players.

“We informed Smouha board that Bassem Morsy is excluded for the rest of the season and they approved our decision. His loan spell will be ended after our Wednesday encounter against Zamalek,” Hassan told Sada El Balad channel.

“It has never happened that we attacked Zamalek during our sessions with the squad. Morsy is the one responsible for the leakage of these false claims. We left out six players after Wadi Degla game including Morsy but we recalled five of them after meeting them.”

“We also denounce the conflict that took place between the player and Tarek Soliman. Our rapport with Zamalek is good and we aim to win or at least achieve a draw.”
