Al Ahly have requested for fans to attend the CAF Champions League quarterfinal clash against Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca.

The first leg is set to take place in Cairo on 16 April at the Al-Salam WE Stadium, with the second leg taking place on the 22nd in Morocco.

The Reds have requested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to allow them to sell all 30,000 available seats for the crucial clash.

In their statement, Al Ahly said that the security forces have proven they can organize large events such as the World Cup qualifier between Egypt and Senegal, which saw an estimated 70,000 fans in attendance.

The Red Devils kicked-off their Champions League title-defending journey in Group A alongside Mamelodi Sundowns, Al Hilal, and Al Merreikh.

Despite being the group favorites, they had a rocky start in the group stage, having fallen to a goalless draw with Al Hilal in Sudan.

They then suffered an unexpected 1-0 defeat to Sundowns at home, but they quickly bounced back, beating Al-Merreikh 3-2 in the third round.

The Reds then received another blow by suffering their second group stage defeat to the Masandawana once again, this time in South Africa.

Al Ahly managed to advance to the next stage by grabbing six crucial points against Al Merreikh (3-1) and Al Hilal (1-0) in the last two fixtures.
