Zamalek legend claims Mostafa Mohamed could sign for Galatasaray for free!

Mostafa Mohamed

Former Zamalek and Tottenham Hotspur hitman Ahmed Hossam Mido has stated that Turkish giants Galatasaray could have the chance to sign Zamalek striker Mostafa Mohamed for free in January.

Mohamed hit the ground running after joining Galatasaray in the 2021 January window on loan from Zamalek and managed to leave an immediate impact, scoring five goals in his first five matches with the team.

Overall the 23-year-old striker succeeded in scoring nine goals in 17 games across all competitions with the Red and Yellows.

Galatasaray retained a buyout clause in Mohamed’s loan from Zamalek that is worth $4 million which should be triggered by the 1st of July.

However, a sensational detail in the story could lead Galatasaray to sign the Egypt star for free due to a loophole in his contract, according to club legend Mido.

“Mohamed signed a two-year contract with Zamalek before joining Galatasaray on loan and rules cite that contracts must be registered within a month from their renewal date,” Mido said on Al Nahar TV.

“Any lawyer can appeal this renewal and the contract would be falsified.

“I call the Ministry of Sports to open an investigation.

“If Galatasaray know about Mohamed’s contract matter they would let him return to Zamalek then sign him in January for free,” he added.
