Elneny

It has been reported that English Premier League giants Arsenal are ready to recommence talks for a new contract for Egypt midfielder Mohamed Elneny having started negotiations back in April.

Elneny was a regular in Arsenal’s lineup last season under Arteta as he played a total of 40 games with the Gunners this season, scoring three goals this season.

The 28-year-old started 22 games out of all the games he featured in, the thing which demonstrates Arteta’s trust in the Egypt international.

One of Elneny’s strikes came against Dundalk FC in the Europa League group stages, but the Gunners’ exited the competition in knockout stages later on.

The scorcher made the cut as one of the potential winners of Arsenal’s Goal of the Season award and eventually, the Egyptian came out victorious, having received 31% of the votes cast.

A fresh report from football.london stated that Arsenal are expected to resume contract negotiations with Mohamed Elneny ahead of the new season after opening talks with the Egyptian midfielder in April.

Preliminary talks over a new deal began before the end of last season, as manager Arteta and technical director Edu looked to protect the value of a player who has just one year left on his current contract.
