Official: Egypt winger agrees new deal with Zamalek

Zamalek

Egypt giants Zamalek have officially announced that Egypt international Ahmed Sayed Zizo has signed a new contract with the club until 2025 to become the second player to agree a new deal after Mahmoud Hamdy El-Wensh.

Despite being an integral part of the Zamalek squad since signing for them in 2019, Zizo has been rumored to leave as he gathered interest from many teams in the Gulf region and Cairo giants Al Ahly.

Zizo has completed 100 appearances for Zamalek last week against Aswan. Throughout his spell he has made 30 direct goal contributions [15 goals and 15 assists] and guided them to four trophies; namely the CAF Confederation Cup, the CAF Super Cup, the Egypt Cup and the Egyptian Super Cup.

The 25-year-old pledged his allegiance for Zamalek and expressed his desire to stay at the club until retirement.

The Whites took the initiative and managed to find an agreement to extend Zizo’s contract until June 2025, after his current deal was set to expire next summer, an announcement was made by Zamalek TV.

“It was very important to continue my spell with Zamalek, everyone knows the amount of pressure I was subject to recently,” Zizo to Zamalek TV.

“I appreciate Zamalek fans and I did things for the good of the club in secret, despite that I was attacked by the fans for things I didn’t do, but I know it was out of their love for me.”

Zizo has also become an integral part of Hossam El-Badry’s Egypt national team squad, as he’s been called-up for every camp since November 2019. However, he has yet to score his first international goal.
