I want to retire at Zamalek, says Ahmed Sayed Zizo

Ahmed Sayed Zizo

Zamalek forward Ahmed Sayed Zizo said that he hopes to retire at the club after having made his 100th appearance for the Whites.

Zizo made his 100th appearance for Zamalek last week during their 3-0 win over Aswan in the Egyptian Premier League.

The former Moreirense forward was the main protagonist of the encounter not only for having accomplished this historic feat with the White Knights but also because his brace guided them to a much needed win.

Despite being an integral part of the Zamalek squad since signing for them in 2019, Zizo has been rumored to leave as he gathered interest from many teams in the Gulf region and Cairo giants Al Ahly.

However, the 25-year-old shutdown these rumors during an interview with Zamalek’s official website where he said he hopes to retire within the White Castle.

“I’m happy that I played 100 matches with Zamalek, and I hope to continue and make my 200th match and then the 300th,” Zizo said.

“I would like to the tell the Zamalek fans that things are looking promising during this period, and you will have some good news in the coming days.

“Zamalek has played a major role in helping me have a successful career, and I hope to stay here until I retire,” he concluded.

In his 100 appearances for Zamalek, Zizo has made 30 direct goal contributions [15 goals and 15 assists] and guided them to four trophies; namely the CAF Confederation Cup, the CAF Super Cup, the Egypt Cup and the Egyptian Super Cup.

Zizo has also become an integral part of Hossam El-Badri’s Egypt national team squad, as he’s been called-up for every camp since November 2019. However, he has yet to score his first international goal.
