The African Handball Confederation has announced the decided date for the African Super Cup encounter between Egypt giants Zamalek and Etoile du Sahel and it will take place next month.
Zamalek’s handball team was crowned as Africa’s champion for the 12th time after defeating their rivals Sporting 33-31 in the final in Cape Verde back in April.
This title was Zamalek’s 12th in Zamalek’s history. It ensures that the club now leads the list of clubs winning the tournament, followed by Mouloudia Algeria with 11 titles, and Al Ahly of Egypt in third, with five titles.
The AHC announced on Wednesday that the Super Cup clash between Zamalek and Etoile will be played on the 23rd of August in Morocco’s town Agadir.
The winner of the African Super Cup qualifies the winning team to play the handball club world cup.
Additionally, the African association have also set the date to start the upcoming African championship, which sees Zamalek’s participation as well, and it will kick off on August 24.
