It has been reported in Tunisia that the fans of giants Esperance de Tunis have stormed into the first team’s training ground in a ferocious manner to express their anger following the defeat to Al Ahly in the Champions League semifinal.

Mohamed Sherif’s second-half strike against Tunisia’s Esperance was enough for Al Ahly to secure the first leg win in the CAF Champions League semi-finals, giving them a big advantage going into the second leg.

The Reds now need to at least a draw in Egypt in order to reach the Champions League final for the second consecutive year, where they will face either Wydad Casablanca or Kaizer Chiefs.

Al Ahly delivered a great display and seemed to be the team in control of the encounter despite playing in front of Esperance’s loud fans who had minor clashes with Tunisian security police before the match.

According to Tunisian outlet Assabah, Esperance fans have lashed out at Moine Chaabani’s players during the team’s training session on Monday holding them accountable for their shy performance and defeat to the Champions League title holders.

The report went into details, revealing that the quarrel went as far as some of the fans trying to show aggression towards team’s Libyan winger Hamdou Elhouni but his teammate Anice Badri interfered to save him.

On the other hand, Amine Ben Hmida and Mohamed Amine Meskini did not survive the fans’ attack and suffered minor injuries due to the fans assault.

With this win, Al Ahly have put one foot in the final and are scheduled to host the second leg next Saturday, June 26 at the Al Ahly Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo.
