Mohamed Salah voted PFA Fans Player of the Year

Egypt and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has officially clinched the Professional Football Association Fans’ Player of the Year award following his great season on the individual level which saw him finish as Liverpool’s top scorer for the fourth consecutive season.

Despite Liverpool’s underwhelming season, Salah experienced a great campaign in terms of personal records and numbers as with 22 goals, the Egyptian helped the Reds earn Champions League qualification.

Overall, Salah found the back of the net 31 times in 51 appearances during the season, coming second in the Premier League Golden Boot race, just one behind Harry Kane.

Salah recently made the PFA Team of the Year which is voted for by fellow players for season 2020/21 for a second time after his inclusion in season 2017/18.

The 28-year-old’s goals 22 goals in the Premier League helped the Reds secure the third spot in the competition after they had evidently struggled throughout the season.

The PFA’s official account on Twitter announced on Friday that Salah won the Player of the Year award for season 2020/21, the award which is won by fans’ public voting.

The Egypt star got the nod ahead of the likes of Harry Kane, Kevin De Bruyne and Bruno Fernandes.

Reports have started to emerge that Liverpool plan to tie the former Roma hero down to a new contract amid interest from European giants like Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
