Report: New contact offer planned from Liverpool for Egypt star

Mohamed Salah

It has been reported that English Premier League giants Liverpool are about to start a process of offering new deals to all their crucial players as a plea to convince them remain with the Reds, with Egypt star Mohamed Salah among the lined up players.

Despite Liverpool’s underwhelming season, Salah experienced a great campaign in terms of personal records and numbers as with 22 goals, the Egyptian helped the Reds earn Champions League qualification.

Overall, Salah found the back of the net 31 times in 51 appearances during the season, coming second in the Premier League Golden Boot race, just one behind Harry Kane.

Salah recently made the PFA Team of the Year which is voted for by fellow players for season 2020/21 for a second time after his inclusion in season 2017/18.

The Egypt star has been delivering high-level performances since arriving at Liverpool and has managed to always finish as the Reds’ top scorer in his four seasons at the club thus far.

According to Liverpool ECHO, Salah, Caoimhin Kelleher, Virgil Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson are in line to be offered new contracts by the 2019 Champions League champions.

However, the players who top the list are Fabinho and Alisson Becker who will have talks with the club once they return from the Copa America.

Salah’s contract with Liverpool expires in 2023, but Liverpool intend to propose an improved deal to him to ward off interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid who were reportedly interested in acquiring the services of the former Roma star.
