Zamalek make bid for club legend Ahmed Hossam Mido’s son

It has been revealed on Tuesday that Cairo giants Zamalek SC have submitted a formal offer to acquire the son of former club striker and youth product, Ali, to sign him from Wadi Degla in the view of season 2021/22.

Ali Ahmed Hossam Mido plays for the U-18 youth team at Wadi Degla and he was one of the team’s protagonists last season, the thing that caught the eyes of plenty of clubs including Zamalek.

Ali was born in 2004, but he was included in the U-18 Degla team due to his talent and great showings since he was young.

In case the deal goes through, Ali would follow the footsteps of his father Mido who was raised in Zamalek’s youth sector.

Mido commenced his football career at Zamalek and his impressive displays allowed him to debut for the senior team at the age of 16.

Afterwards, Mido started a long journey of playing abroad started when he joined Belgian club Genk from Zamalek in 2000, and a year later he moved to Ajax where he starred in a team full of remarkable talents and managed to make a name for himself in Netherlands.

During his career, Mido also represented the likes of Marseille, Roma and Celta Vigo. One of the most important steps of his rich career was his spell in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur.
