CAF have included four Al Ahly players in their Champions League Team of the Week after the first leg of the quarter-finals.
Al Ahly had edged Raja Casablanca 2-0 in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals on Saturday evening.
Mohamed Abdelmonem opened the scoring for the hosts at the stroke of half-time before Hamdy Fathi’s strike sealed a comfortable win for Al Ahly.
They have now put one foot into the final four of the competition and could make the semi-finals for the fourth consecutive year.
Following their victory, CAF have selected four Al Ahly players to be included in their quarter-finals’ first-leg Team of the Week.
Marwan Ateya, Hamdy Fathi, Mohamed Hany, and goalscorer Mohamed Abdelmonem have all been nominated with the latter also winning the Player of the Week award.
Al Ahly are set to meet Raja Casablanca in the return leg of the quarter-finals at the Mohammed V Stadium on Saturday, April 29th.
