Tala’a El-Gaish lose to Al Ahli Tripoli in Arab Club Champions Cup

Egyptian Premier League outfit Tala’a El-Gaish have suffered a 2-1 defeat to Al Ahli Tripoli in their opening game of the Arab Championship.

The Arab Club Champions Cup is currently taking place in Saudi Arabia this month and consists of 37 teams from 22 different football associations.

Tala’a El-Gaish is one of the teams representing Egypt and were paired with Libya’s Al Ahli Tripoli in a two-legged tie in the first round of the competition.

The Cairo-based side have been on a poor run of form in the league as they lie in the relegation zone with 17 points after 21 games.

Their winless run was extended to 15 games on Tuesday as they lost 2-1 to Al Ahli Tripoli despite taking the lead early in the game through Karim Tarek.

El-Gaish will hope to recover from the defeat quickly as both sides are set to meet again in the return leg of the first round on April 11th.
