Future lead Confederation Cup group as CAF fines ASKO Kara

Egyptian Premier League outfit Future FC have been handed a major boost in the CAF Confederation Cup this season.

Future were drawn in Group C of the CAF Confederation Cup along with local rivals Pyramids FC, AS FAR Rabat, and Togo’s ASKO Kara.

The Cairo-based side managed to earn eight points in total after five games played and were placed third on goal difference.

Their opening game of the tournament came against ASKO Kara in a clash that ended in a 1-1 stalemate at the Stade Municipal last month.

The encounter witnessed controversy as ASKO’s goalscorer Kangnivi Ama Tchoutchoui started the game despite having a suspension.

As a result, Future FC filed an official complaint following the game and have finally received a response weeks later.

CAF released a statement on Sunday and announced that Future will claim a 3-0 win over ASKO while handing the latter a $10,000 fine.

The win has now put Future top of their group with 10 points with AS FAR and Pyramids dropping to second and third respectively.
