Saudi club Al Shabab agree personal terms with Spain defender

Al Shabab have agreed personal terms with Spain international and Osasuna defender David Garcia, according to Fabrizio Romano.

García, 30, has 3 caps to his name with Spain in which they all came in the Euro 2024 qualifiers which the team ended up winning in Germany over England.

He is also Osasuna’s captain and has been playing for the club all his career, leaving just once on a six-month loan to join CyD Leonesa in 2018.

However, it seems like he is now set to leave permanently as the only thing standing between him and a move to Saudi Arabia is an agreement between both clubs.

Last season, Garcia featured 27 times for Osasuna and overall represented the club in 305 games across all competitions, scoring 15 goals.

Although Al-Shabab isn’t one of the PIF-owned clubs, they still managed to do some huge deals in the market. They have signed Croatia International Ivan Rakitic and Belgian International Yannick Carrasco last season. This helped them finish eighth in the Saudi Pro League last season and they are looking to build on that.

Al-Shabab just lost Ivan Rakitic who terminated his contract mutually to return to Hajduk Split in his home country. They are trying to strengthen their squad to at least keep their place as a mid-table team in the Saudi Pro League.
