Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ahli Jeddah are set to complete the signing of Spanish wonderkid Gabri Veiga from Celta de Vigo.
Veiga has previously been linked with Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City, with the latter entering the race for him after losing Declan Rice to Arsenal.
Moreover, Napoli had booked a medical for Veiga after agreeing personal terms with the player, but the deal fell through amid ‘tense exchanges’ between the two clubs.
To everyone’s surprise, it was Al Ahli Jeddah who managed to agree a deal with the Spaniard midfielder, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano went on to reveal that Al Ahli manager Matthias Jaissle was crucial for Veiga to accept the deal offered by the Saudis.
At just 21, Gabri Veiga, is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in European football after a remarkable 2022/23 season that saw him score 11 goals in LaLiga.
Veiga will become the latest star to join Al Ahli this summer after Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino, Franck Kessie, Edouard Mendy, Allan Saint-Maximin, Roger Ibañez, and Merih Demiral.
