Liverpool hero Mohamed Salah said that the overall improvement of Egyptian players has caused a handful of them to move abroad in the recent period.
Salah spoke about Egyptian players playing abroad specifically in England and how the players’ perfromances could help more players sign for foreign clubs.
“The number of Egyptians is fewer than it should there [England]. only Ahmed El Mohamady was in the country.”
”Having five or six players is an accomplishment. Of course it is still few but it’s better than having no one there,” He continued by expressing his happiness for them.
About how Egyptians’ performance abroad will affect the demand on Egyptians he said, “Hegazi has been doing good with his club [West Bromwich Albion] which made everyone happy and cause them to sign Ali Gabr.”
“Same happened with me at Basel. After I went they signed Mohamed Elneny and Omar Gaber.”
The 25-year-old Egyptian spoke about how he prepares for matches saying: “it is normal that players’ main focus is on the big games. You don’t need someone to tell you to focus more because you’re already at the top.”
“There are no big and small games to me, it is the same thing and my goal for every match is the same and my preparations for any game doesn’t differ.”
Salah concluded by talking about his hometown Nagrig in Egypt.
“I always go there when I have a vacation. I get really happy when I’m around the closest people to my heart. It is the place I was born in and where I will die in.”
